As Greg Laurie says in a recent post,
It was unheard of in first-century culture for a father to abandon his responsibilities in his home. Nowadays, it seems to be almost the norm. We are losing fathers at an unprecedented rate in our culture.
It’s true. We have an epidemic of passivity and absenteeism among fathers. It’s too easy to bail and to hard to take full responsibility and get in there and do the Dad thing with love and passion.
Greg offers this solution:
Instead of provoking them, we are to bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. This could also be translated “to nourish and feed.”
And more help as well.
